Boston Head to SC14 with Lots of Interesting Technologies & Goodies

Posted on 13 November, 2014

The Boston team will be packing their cases and heading off to New Orleans for another year at SC14. This year Boston will be showcasing its latest innovations in HPC technology on booth #3457. This includes server, networking, storage, accelerators and innovative cooling technology with some very exciting partners.

In partnership with Diablo Technologies and SanDisk, we will be demonstrating our Quattro 1280-6, a VMware vSphere® 5.5-based VDI & Virtual SAN cluster. This features the Diablo Memory Channel Storage™ and SanDisk® ULLtraDIMM™ SSD architecture as a low latency SSD cache to traditional spinning HDD's. The Boston Quattro 1280-6 offers the flexibility and energy efficient performance of both at a fraction of the cost of all SSD solutions.

The Boston Quattro 1280-6 is designed for optimal performance and processing density, providing modularity and serviceability through use of the Supermicro® 2U Twin Squared™ platform. To discuss how the Boston Quattro 1280-6, Diablo's MCS and SanDisk® ULLtraDIMM™ SSD architecture can increase your virtual machine density, availability and serviceability; whilst decreasing your operating expenditure visit the Boston team on stand #3457 to find out more.

We will also be in partnership with NVIDIA, the world leader in visual computing technologies and the inventor of the GPU. With the Next Generation GPU Acceleration we can't say too much, as we may be under embargo - but there may or may not be a system packed with NVIDIA's next generation GPU on the stand.

This year we are excited to be in partnership with Intel, we will be showing the extreme density SuperFlex MicroBlade for high performance computing, this features 28 x hot-swappable nodes each containing 2 x Intel®s Xeon® E5-2600 v3 processors.

The SuperFlex MicroBlade only occupies 6U rack of space and offers class-leading density with a targeted feature set, this makes it the ideal basis for many HPC and high-power compute environments. The density of the MicroBlade impressively allows 196 dual processor nodes in a standard 42U rack, including all the necessary power, cooling and switch gear.

We will also be in partnership with Mellanox at this year's SC14. Boston will demonstrate the world's highest bandwidth switch at SC14 running at 100GB. There is no better value to today's IT centers than a single option that offers the highest bandwidth, extremely low latency, and the scalability needed to support HPC, Web2.0, and cloud applications.

Not only do we have these amazing demonstrations but by teaming up with partners Diablo Technology we are also running a competition and giving away 3 IPad minis, to find out more and to be in a chance of winning drop by our stand.

Plus lots more interesting technologies & goodies including merchandise from Intel! Make sure you pass by stand #3457 and also keep up to date with our live social media updates!
