A major step forward in server design, the next generation *Boston Quattro* range has been built with the challenges of modern, datacentre, cloud, enterprise, and high performance computing directly in mind. Based on Supermicro’s BigTwin™ server building blocks, this new range offers greatly enhanced performance per watt and per square foot over it’s predecessor. Additional features include support for 165W, or even 200W TDP processors infuture generations, 6 x SAS/S-ATA or NVME U.2 devices, up to 24 DIMM’s and 3TB of memory capacity per node; making this the most compelling Quattro yet.
With four dual processor Xeon E5-2600 v3/4 processors in a 2U enclosure, scale out, high density and compute use cases are perfectly aligned with the *Quattro*’s multi-node design. With each node sporting dual PCI-Express x16 low profile add-in card slots, and an additional Supermicro IO Module (SIOM) slot for flexible on board networking options, you can choose from a wide range of Ethernet and Infiniband controllers with speeds from 1Gb/s up to 100Gb/s to match your connectivity requirements exactly.
Up to 6 SAS, S-ATA or even NVME drive support means that whatever your storage and IO requirements, and with hardware RAID options with 2GB Supercapacitor backed cache (SAS/S-ATA Only) you can rest assured knowing you’re protected from unexpected disk failures.
Redundant 2600W power supplies ensure that all nodes can keep running in the event of a PSU failure or loss of a dual feed input, and with Titanium level efficiency (96%) they’re better for energy consumption and the environment than ever before.
