The Boston Fenway 2224-0T provides an excellent balance of computing performance, server density and chassis depth. This perfectly engineered system houses two Intel E5-2650 V4 processors, 64GB of 2400MHz DDR4 memory, Dual port 10GbE RJ-45, four 2TB HDDs for storage, one 400GB NVMe and all in a 2U rack mount form factor.
Each Boston Fenway 2224-0T supports up to 7x PCI-E 3.0 x8 slots, 24 SAS/SATA devices or 20 SAS/SATA plus 4 NVMe in 2.5" / SFF hot swap bays, up to 1.5TB of RAM and up to two processors, selectable from the entire Intel Xeon E5-2600 V3 range.
What's more, the Fenway 2224-0T supports cutting edge Intel Xeon E5-2600 v4 (codename Broadwell) and this brings with it a whole host of performance upgrades. The V4 generation is built on a 14nm process which provides a pathway to up to 22 cores, 44 threads, 55MB cache and 2400MHZ memory bandwidth while retaining similar TDP levels to the v3 generation.
NVMe (Non-Volatile Memory Express) is a scalable, high performance specification to allow PCI-E Gen3 direct connect to NVMe devices that provides the same benefits as a PCI-E based SSD without the limitations. With NVMe you can expect to benefit from reduced latency, increased Input/ Output operations per second (IOPS), and lower power consumption. Boston Fenway 2224-0T utilizes the 2.5" version of NVMe which removes many of the SSD PCI-E based draw backs allowing for quick access with 2.5" form factor and hot swap trays. These are highlighted from the standard 2.5" tray by an orange tab.
Provided as standard, Supermicro's IPMI (out of band management) provides enterprise level access to each node. Delivered as a new feature for the Roamer 2224-0T's IPMI management, multimode allows the administrator to see both node's status when logged into just one, for ease of administration.
Redundant Titanium level efficiency power supplies help keep the system, online in the event of power failures, too, yet with a 96% efficiency you can rest easy knowing energy is not unnecessarily wasted.
