Boston is excited to introduce its partners and customers with one of the newest and most innovative technology companies on the planet. VAST is an SSD based technology which is architected to cover most use cases that an enterprise might have that need storage. Boston is particularly excited to work with VAST on use cases relating to HPC and AI. For the first time, the revolutionary principles of DASE (Disaggregated Shared Everything Architecture) are available on industry standard Supermicro servers. The topology uses the new concept of the VAST EBox which combines 1x VAST C-node (compute) and 2x D-nodes (storage) into a single Supermicro system. Each server combines compute and storage while disaggregation occurs over a high speed NVMe fabric ensuring each node can access all drives.
As a Global Strategic alliance partner to Supermicro, Boston is particularly excited to introduce this relationship to the Boston partner and customer base. The focus of this relationship compliments the flexible Supermicro technology portfolio with the agility of the VAST data platform. This enables hyperscalers, cloud service providers and data centric enterprise organisations to build their AI platforms with the right blend of compute and storage. The benefits of this relationship are simplicity, in terms of simple building blocks, availability in terms of unparalleled uptime, and efficiency for the delivery of AI operations. The addition of Boston to this equation provides consultancy, in terms of sizing using tools to calculate right size the target environment. Experience, in terms of selecting the best components to meet the budgetary needs. Finally, services, in terms of having the experience to install and configure Supermicro solutions effectively and to maintain the support of the systems in the most efficient way possible.
Boston is a certified VAST partner engaging in regular training with VAST. Boston is one of the first companies certified to run the VAST probe. This a software application used by Boston that outlines efficiency gained using VAST’s Global Similarity Reduction. With this information Boston produces a detailed report which outlines the ideal VAST target platform. Boston’s decades of experience building, selling, and configuring Supermicro solutions makes us the ideal partner to work with.
Boston has released a new Boston Technology Consulting (BTC) offering which a team of Boston Engineers leverages the VAST Probe to gather metrics to help Boston to identify the correct target architecture for a new storage platform. Boston consultants provide a detailed review of the existing infrastructure before using the VAST Probe to gather relevant storage metrics. The results are presented in a proposal and presentation. As well as creating the report and presentation of the results, the service will work with the end user to ensure that the resources are gathered so that the Probe can be deployed correctly.
