Posted on 04 November, 2020

With the Intel® Ethernet portfolio, you can accelerate high-priority applications, packet processing and latency-sensitive workloads. The 800 Series introduces new controllers and adapters with 10/25, 50, and 100Gbps speeds, multiple form factors (PCIe and OCP NIC 3.0), and broad OS support. This series is ideal for many verticals including HPC, Enterprise, Cloud Service Providers and Comms SPs.

Enterprise:

  • Broad physical interfaces support, through test and validation with ecosystem devices for compatibility
  • Accelerate existing servers with cost-effective, upgrades (800 adapters, Optane memory, Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors)
  • Extensive Microsoft solution support - Broad OS enablement - Windows Server, VMWare ESX Server, RedHat Linux, Free BSD

Communications Service Providers:

  • Leveraging the Intel Ethernet 800 Series' fully programmable pipeline, DDP can add or modify protocols on-demand improving packet processing efficiency
  • Support 3 packet processing protocols DPDK (up to 110m packets per second), AF_XDP (optimise applications in containers), VPP (process more than one packet a time)

Cloud:

  • Up to 100Gb/s throughput for diverse workloads in modern data centres
  • Support both iWARP and RoCEv2 RDMA, selectable via software per port for low-latency, high-throughput workloads
