The following information defines Solarflare policy and process related to the SFN5162F EOL and End of Support Life:
The End of Sales date for the SFN5162F server adapters is December 31, 2017.
The last day to buy a spare product is the End of Sales date.
Solarflare announced the end of life to our reseller channel and customers on or before August 31, 2017.
The End of Support date for SFN5162F will be December 31, 2020.
Solarflare will support the SFN5162F until the End of Support date.
Solarflare support will include providing an updated driver, if required, either via new driver versions or bug fixing old versions.
Solarflare will provide updated drivers in the same form as production drivers (e.g. pre-compiled and source) during the support period.
Software, firmware, and boot ROM will be supported for the SFN5162F until the End of Support date.
Software, firmware, and boot ROM will be supported for the SFN5162F until the End of Support date.
Solarflare will continue to support the SFN5162F server adapters operating with maintenance versions of host software (applications, middleware, and drivers), firmware, and boot ROM until End of Support.
Solarflare makes no commitments that new software features introduced after the End of Sales date will operate on the SFN5162F server adapters.
Operating systems supported by SFN5162F server adapters at End of Sales will continue to be supported to the latest version supported at the End of Sales date, including support of service packs/service updates to those OS versions.
Solarflare makes no commitments to support newer versions of supported operating systems or to add support for other operating systems after the End of Sales date.
Extended hardware warranties for SFN5162F server adapters will not be sold after the End of Sales date.
Solarflare will not sell extended Hardware warranties for products that are no longer sold.
The last day to buy an extended warranty will be the End of Sales date.
Extended warranties in-force at End of Sales will be honored until their expiration date.
Standard hardware warranties will be honored for SFN5162F server adapters.
Products purchased through the End of Sales date are covered by a standard 3 year warranty.
The last day a valid RMA request will be accepted for a defective SFN5162F server adapter product under standard warranty is December 31, 2020.
For RMA requests under standard or extended warranty, Solarflare will replace a failed adapter with the “same” or “newer” model which “matches” or “exceeds” the failed card’s capabilities.
