They're finally here – the Intel® Xeon® E5-2600 V2 processors based on the 'Ivy Bridge' microarchitecture! And with Boston you can get your hands on them before the competition!
The next generation of Xeon E5 CPUs deliver higher memory capacity and bandwidth, improved peripheral expansion potential, and more processing at the same power as the previous version. The jumps in specification are significant, with Intel increasing the number of cores, threads per socket, LLC, and the max memory speed. Intel has also increased security using some new technologies such as OS Guard and Secure Key. OS Guard helps prevent malware attacks from tricking the OS to be in supervisor mode, opening up access to critical and sensitive areas of the system. Secure key consists of a digital random number generator that creates truly random numbers to strengthen encryption algorithms.
As reported in earlier posts, Boston had early access to the processors and has already put them through their paces in three forms:
The three solutions above are available to buy TODAY, and more systems based on the new Xeon E5-2600 v2 as standard will be added in the coming weeks. The processor are also available to order as an individual component. Talk to us about how easy the upgrade path is and add the new Xeon E5 2600 v2 to your next order.
To help our clients make informed decisions about new technologies, we have opened up our research & development facilities and actively encourage customers to try the latest platforms using their own tools and if necessary together with their existing hardware. Remote access is also available
Accelerate your compute performance! Learn how this is possible in this exclusive webcast, "AI Data Centres - DRAM 6400 & PCIe Gen 5 with Micron," hosted by Boston in collaboration with Micron Technology.
