Overview
The Boston Value Series 380 G8 is a high-end, low cost solution that supports Intel’s latest 8-core Xeon E5-2600 series processors; providing up to 8-cores / 16-threads, improved memory bandwidth thanks to its quad-channel memory support and an incredible 40 PCI-E 3.0 lanes per socket.
Supporting Intel’s Xeon E5-2600 series processors, the Boston Value Series 380 G8 is a high-end, low cost solution comprising of Supermicro’s next generation X9DRi-LN4F+ dual-processor motherboard.
Intel’s latest generation Xeon processor and Patsburg chipset provides up to 8-cores / 16-threads as well as PCI Express 3.0 with an incredible 40 lanes per CPU socket for improved connectivity. Memory bandwidth is also substantially increased via four memory channels with 3DPC per CPU, as well as through the inclusion of 24 DIMM slots to enable capabilities of up to 768GB of ECC registered memory.
The Boston Value Series 380 G8 comprises of a SAS backplane, supporting up to twelve SAS or SATA HDD’s in a RAID 0, 1,5,6,10, 50, 60 array for improved I/O performance and data integrity.
There are also two passive CPU heatsinks and three 8cm system fans, all maintained within a dense 2U rackmount form factor.
